On Tuesday, October 4, the Green Team along with students across grade levels helped to harvest the garden on the playground. At the end of the 21-22 school year, students planted tomatoes, corn, leafy greens, several types of squash, and flowers in the school garden. Parent volunteers and students took turns watering the garden over the summer into fall. Students were able to see how the different vegetables and flowers grew. They also got to taste the “fruits” of their hard work. Thank you Green Team for teaching students the concepts of farm-to-table and sustainable gardening. We are excited to plan a winter garden and continue bringing learning opportunities outside of the classroom.
